
"Exzur"- is associated by some to extraterrestrial being but behind the name is a strong person. He is the seventh of the eight children born to a family of farmers. He grew up in a rather small and insignificant barrio of Catagbacan, Goa, Camarines Sur. In an early age, he has to work in the farm to augment the family income. His family life is built around the worship of God and education. This family environment helped him pursue his studies against all odds. He finished his elementary years with honors and took his high school education at nighttime while working during the day.He firmly believed that good life starts with hope.Thus, he hopes for a bright future whatever situation confronts him. When he was in Grade V and 3rd year high school, he was promoted to first year high school and to first year college, respectively! Inspired by his teachers, he took up Bachelor of Science in Education and was given the opportunity to represent the school in the regional or national conferences and leadership trainings which enhanced his leadership potentials. He held several key positions in school and in the community. He became the President of the Youth Community Service Club, a national organization under the Office of the President of the Philippines. He was also given a chance to experience running the City of Naga as the City Youth Administrator. He held the editor-in-chief position in their school-community paper and officer of the College Editors Guild of the Philippines. In 1984, he graduated Cum Laude with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education major in History. He was a proud recipient of various awards such as: Community Service Award,Journalism Award, Academic Excellence Award,and Leadership Award. A month after his graduation,he became a full fledge teacher at the Camarines Sur National High School, Naga City and was actively involved in organizing several school clubs such as Dramatics, Save the Earth Movement, and UNESCO Clubs. Since 1989, he published several books such as:Guide for Effective Use of Maps and Globe,Glimpse of Asia, Philippine History Workbook,World History Workbook and Effective Use of Maps and Globes in Teaching Geography. After several years of teaching, he was promoted as Education Program Specialist II at the Bureau of Secondary Education, Department of Education, Culture and Sports where he is involved in formulating educational policies and standards. A year after, he was assigned as Project Development Officer Ill of the Secondary Education and Improvement Development Project (SEDIP), a special project of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, intended for the least developed provinces of the Philippines. In 1998, he finished his Masters in Education major in Administration and Supervision.Currently, he is studying at Asia Pacific College with the degree of Masters in Information Technology Education.
